A poem about my work attitudes over the years
Realized it doesn’t take much money or recognition to live happily and that I had enough; stopped working hard for those.
Worked hard for impact instead and struck gold a few times, but impactful opportunities with recognition weren’t always there.
Stopped working hard; had happy afternoons playing basketball and reading, but had too much free time, needed something to do, and fondly remembered the fun of work.
Now working hard again, but this time for the combo of fun, impact, recognition, and money, and with breaks to savor the victories.
