Where Is My Time Going These Days?
- Dates: 2026-11-01 – present
- Status: unfinished
- Importance: 7
Here’s where I’ve been spending time recently:1
- Work
- Life essentials/logistics: lately, green card, marriage certificate, dental insurance, plus usual chores
- New interest: taking a bigger role in the daily planning and prepping our cooking/meals
- Eating dinner and watching TV with my wife on weeknights, and planning and doing Fibo-friendly weekend activities like pumpkin farm visits and birthdays
- Walking with Fibo and my wife in the mornings, and doing shoulder and thumb rehab exercises while Fibo runs around at the dog park
- Texting with and hanging out with family and friends, old and new
- Reading about Massachusetts politics (we just had the blue wave election of 2026!), discussing AI-drug discovery with friends, writing blog posts/side projects, and playing games/watching sports (let’s do less of this last one)
- Playing volleyball twice per week
- Bike commuting around Boston on weekdays (to HMS or to cowork with friends) and walking around HMS
- Figuring out how to balance it all and savor each experience
It’s enough to keep a man busy — that’s for sure. But overall it’s fun and rewarding.
Footnotes
-
I enjoy journaling throughout the day about what I’ve done and sometimes using Toggl to track my time down to the hour. It’s nice to pause and savor what I’ve done/experienced instead of just rushing from one activity to the next. Time tracking also helps me know whether I’m spending time on the things I consider most important. I may come back and do one of these posts every few months. ↩
